Mining News Pro - Official data from India`s Ministry of Commerce shows that aluminum exports rose significantly in the first quarter despite US tariff increases.

According to Mining News Pro - Exports of seven aluminum products with a tariff of 10 percent from the United States rose despite a 59 percent increase from $ 103 million to $ 164 million.

Altogether, aluminum exports are estimated at $ 181 million, up 54 percent from $ 118 million last year.

Indian Commerce Department officials said it was very difficult to comment on the next three months on aluminum.

Indian officials are negotiating with US officials about a commercial package.

The hard-line estimates show that nearly $ 1.2 billion of steel and aluminum exports to the United States will be affected by US tariff increases.
