Mining News Pro - Imported HRC offers to Bangladesh inched down owing to weakening offers of HRC from China.Chinese HRC export offers remain steady despite surge in domestic prices over recent announcement of production cut in China.
As per assessment, imported HRC offers ( 1.8 - 2 mm) to Bangladesh from China is assessed around USD 646/MT CFR Chittagong.Last week HRC offers from major mills were assessed around USD 650/MT CFR basis.
A Bangladesh based market participants shared that, major mills in Bangladesh are in discussions with Chinese based mill to book HRC of around 15,000-20,000 MT in the range of USD 640-645/MT CFR Chittagong.
Further he added that if Chinese HRC offers show any correction, mills can book bulk quantities from China for September shipments.
Meanwhile Japanese mills have not announced any latest offers for imported HRC to Bangladesh. However they are planning to offer for September shipments.
Bulk steel coil imports to Bangladesh fall in Jul`18: According to customs data maintained with steelMint, Bangladesh imported 29,210 MT steel coil in the month of Jul’18 via bulk imports down significantly against 72,116 MT in previous month.
