Mining News Agency – Regarding the prediction of rising the price of copper and non-ferrous metals, Ahmad Moradalizadeh, CEO of Iran National Copper said: “Prices are currently in the range of 6600 to 6800 dollars; but some experts believe that this rise in prices is not fundamental. But the future price growth are very important.”

He explained: “It expected that the prices will rise and will be between 6700 to 7000 dollars. I think this is a good situation for shareholders and producers. If industry managers commit to the commitments that they have been in the past three to four years, this positive trend will continue.”

CEO of Iran National Copper explained about the 2025 view: “Reaching the production volume between 700 thousand tons to 1 million tons is not true. According to the plans, we can reach 400 thousand tons until 2020 but producing 700 tons of copper completely depends on the future explorations. Industry, science and technology of explorations are weak in Iran due to various reasons.”

He added: “We used the companies which have this knowledge and also we are negotiating to create a joint-venture with these companies. British Colombia, Azerbaijan and Kerman Universities are in our list. In addition, we are negotiating with a famous Japanese company. These cooperations can bring can bring the technology and science of other countries to Iran.”

Moradalizadeh mentioned that the copper industry and production is based on metallurgy, and added: “We will eliminated any environmental pollutions from Kerman until the end of 2019.”

He emphasized: “Flash technology (converting concentrates to anode) has 15 years of history in Iran.”

He also said about the localization of Copper Company: “From 16 years ago, we tried to produce all of the components and equipements by reverse engineering. We now have 25 to 30 million euros annually importing parts and equipment, and much of the equipment is being built inside the country. This movement has grown steadily in the last two or three years and has had a very positive impact in different regions, especially Kerman and Azerbaijan.”
