“Coke and energy prices are increasing constantly in the world. The fact is that 70% of the coal which is being consumed in the plants are supplied from domestic mines inside Iran and around 30% of it isexport coke and coal, therefore we need to reduce the coke consumption,” said Homayoun Samimi, the head of blast furnace section in ESCO.
He also mentioned that there are few working teams dedicated to this issue and compared to the previous year, on average the consumption of dry coke has decreased by about 40 kg.
