Mining News Pro - Mineral Resources (MinRes) has awarded Swift Media with a technology and support contract for site accommodation as the mining company strengthens the capacity of its camps.
Under the agreement, Swift will provide in-room entertainment for MinRes’ 338 new rooms for a period of 16 months starting this month.
It is part of Swift’s latest contract wins, which are worth a combined $2 million.
Swift stated that while the aggregate revenue from the contracts was material to the company, no individual contract would not provide material revenues in its own right.
Earlier this year, MinRes contracted Swift to provide Pay TV content, ad hoc support and maintenance services at five of its remote accommodation sites.
MinRes manages all seven of its accommodation sites, including two new camps that were added to the portfolio during the 2020 financial year to support the company’s exploration activities in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
MinRes has boosted its number of accommodation rooms by 13 per cent to 2213 rooms compared with the prior corresponding year.
The company has also started constructing a 99-person mining camp at Parker Range to support its iron ore development in the Yilgarn region, Western Australia.
