Mining News Pro - GR Engineering Services has secured a contract with Millennium Minerals which will lead to the restart of the processing plant at the Nullagine gold project in Western Australia next year.
The $8.3 million contract includes the refurbishment and upgrade of Nullagine’s gold plant, including the existing carbon-in-leach tanks, the gravity circuit and associated facilities.
The Nullagine mine and processing plant were shut down in December last year, a month after Millennium entered into voluntary administration.
The company was acquired by Novo Resources this year for an estimated consideration of $US44 million ($61 million) as the latter aimed to fast track its transition to producer status in the Pilbara region.
Novo stated that it selected GR Engineering due to its experience and capacity to undertake the works safely and cost effectively.
“We are assembling an experienced and enthusiastic operational team who have a sense that they are integral to pioneering a new era of conglomerate gold production in Western Australia,” Novo chief executive Rob Humphryson said.
GR Engineering managing director Geoff Jones said that the company was pleased to have been awarded the contract for the Nullagine mill refurbishment project.
“We are looking forward to working with the Novo management team to successfully and safely deliver this project.”
Novo has appointed Pilbara Resources Group to ensure the camp is ready for operations after being under care and maintenance for nine months.
