Mining News Pro - Chairman of the Board of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation told about the production of 250 thousand tons of alumina and said: “The first aluminum ingot was produced in the last days of the year at a weight of 1,000 pounds in Jajarm.”
According to Mining News Pro - Khodadad Gharibpour, Chairman of the board of IMIDRO said the amount of investment in this project is 94 million euros.
Gharibpour said: “The capacity of Jajarm aluminum production will reach 120 thousand tons in subsequent phases.”
“Employment volume in mines, alumina and aluminum plant is 3 thousand people directly and 10 thousand people indirectly. Also, 30 percent of the factory equipment is now localized”, he said.
About the exploration operations, Gharibpour said that exploration drilling program by Iran Alumina Company has risen by 40 thousand meters to 140 thousand meters
