Mining News Pro - This week imported HRC offers to Bangladesh witnessed further drop following weakening steel prices in China. Chinese steel mills have significantly reduced HRC export offers over sluggish buying in domestic and export market.
According to Mining News Pro -This week imported HRC offers to Bangladesh witnessed further drop following weakening steel prices in China. Chinese steel mills have significantly reduced HRC export offers over sluggish buying in domestic and export market.
Currently imported HRC (2mm) offers to Bangladesh is assessed around USD 570-580/MT CFR Chittagong for Dec shipments. Last week’s assessment was at USD 585-590/MT CFR Chittagong.
Currently Chinese mills are offering around USD 535-540/MT FoB basis.
Market participants also mentioned that a major HRC importers based in Bangladesh are bidding on lower side and are holding back bookings in anticipation of further decline in offers.
Imported HRC offers from Japan- Imported HRC offers to Bangladesh from Japan is hovering at USD 600/MT CFR basis for December shipments.However as per Bangladesh based HRC importers no major deals have reported yet.
Meanwhile no active offers heard from Korean and Russian mills for December shipments.
Bangladesh Bulk Steel Coil Imports in Oct’18 - As per provisional data maintained with SteelMint,Bangladesh bulk vessel imports in Oct’18 stood at 77,873 MT moved up by 8.2% against 71,910 MT in Sep’18.
