Mining News Pro - According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries has witnessed growth of 5% to 1,346.98 MnT in 9M CY18 (Jan-Sep’18) which was 1286.04 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
According to Mining News Pro -According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries has witnessed growth of 5% to 1,346.98 MnT in 9M CY18 (Jan-Sep’18) which was 1286.04 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
However on monthly basis world steel output remains largely stable since last two months at 151 MnT.
SteelMint has analyzed world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries -
--China’s crude steel output rose by 6% in 9M CY18 - China crude steel output rose by 6% to 699.42 MnT in Jan-Sep’18 which was 659.42 MnT in same time frame of previous year. Amid strong domestic demand and high prices, China’s crude steel output has witnessed increase this year. However on M-o-M basis the same inch up by 1% to 80.84 MnT in Sep’18 against 80.32 MnT Aug’18.
--India`s crude steel output increases by 6% in 9M CY18- As per WSA (World Steel Association) Indian crude steel output moved up by 6% to 79.66 MnT in first nine months (Jan-Sep) of CY18 which was 75.04 in Jan-Sep’17. Major Indian steel mills like JSW, Tata Steel, JSPL and SAIL have raised iron ore production this year.However on monthly basis the same reported slump of 4% to 8.52 MnT in Sep’18 against 8.83 MnT in preceding month.
--Japan’s crude steel output remain stable in 9M CY18 - Japan crude steel output up by 5% to 78.61 MnT in Jan-Sep’18 which was 78.26 MnT in Jan-Sep’17.Japan’s domestic steel industry remains robust with rise in demand on y-o-y basis which is attributed to solid local demand for automobiles as well as industrial and construction machinery. Meanwhile on M-o-M basis nation’s crude steel output drop by 4% to 8.41 MnT in Sep’18 as compared to 8.80 MnT in previous month.
--United States crude steel output up by 5% in 9M CY18 - USA crude steel output stood at 64.17 MnT in Jan-Sep’18 ,higher by 5% against 61.38 MnT in Jan-Sep’17. However on monthly premise nation’s crude steel output stood at 7.25 MnT in Sep’18,up by 3% against 7.47 MnT in previous month.
Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in Jan-Sep’18 is as follows Russia: 54.28 MnT, South Korea: 54.18 MnT, Brazil: 26.09 MnT ,Turkey 27.98 MnT and Germany at 34.03 MnT
