According to Mining News Pro -Trade statistics released by Canada custom shows that the iron ore exports by the country recorded at 5.7 MnT in Aug`18. On yearly basis exports witnessed 48% rise as against 3.84 MnT in Aug`17.The exports depicted significant increase of 18% M-o-M as compared to July`18 exports at 4.84 MnT.
For the duration Jan-Aug`18, Canadian exports marked at 26.88 MnT, up 3% as compared to 26.16 MnT last year for the same duration.
The non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) depicted sharp increase on monthly basis by 40% to 4.67 MnT in Aug`18 as against 3.33 MnT in July`18. The Y-o-Y exports increase to almost twice as against Aug`17 exports at 2.37 MnT.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) exports in Aug18 witnessed at 1.03 MnT, down 32% M-o-M as compared to July`18 exports at 1.51 MnT. On yearly basis, exports depicted a fall of 30% as against Aug`17 exports at 1.47 MnT.
Canadian Iron ore exports to France up 41% M-o-M
France stood the largest importer of Canadian iron ore in Aug’18 at 1.1 MnT, up 41% M-o-M as against 0.78 MnT in July’18. China stood the second largest importer at 0.93 MnT (stable on monthly basis).
Netherland, UK and South Korea marked significant rise in monthly iron ore imports.
Netherland imported 0.82 MnT(up 82% M-o-M ), UK at 0.55 MnT( up 72% M-o-M) and South Korea at 0.31 MnT (up two folds on monthly basis).
