India: Odisha Iron Ore Production Fall Amid Monsoons

However, the provisional data of Odisha govt. maintained by SteelMint, state`s production recorded increase of 13% Y-o-Y in June`18 at 9.14 as against June`17 production at 8.10 MnT.

Rungta Mines - India`s largest private merchant miner produced 2.08 MnT iron ore in June`18, down 22% M-o-M as against 2.66 MnT in May’18.

Iron ore production of state-owned miner, OMC marked decline of 6% to 0.89 MnT for the month as against 0.95 MnT in May`18.

Tata recorded production at 1.03 MnT, down 14% M-o-M as against 1.2 MnT in May`18.

Essel mining recorded June’18 production at 0.82 MnT in line with May`18 production. Post resumption of operations in Feb`18, Essel mining has depicted an increasing trend in production on monthly basis owing to resumption of operation at Jilling mines.

SAIL recorded an increase in iron ore production for the month of June`18 at 0.82 MnT, up 37% M-o-M as against 0.60 MnT a month before. SAIL`s Barsua iron ore mine, with capacity of 3.5 MnT per annum resumed operations on 20th May after a gap of four years, is expected to bring increase in production.

RP Sao resumed operations after a gap of around 1.5 years and recorded an increased production in June’18 at 0.28 MnT, up more than twice on monthly basis as against 0.13 MnT in May’18.

Serajuddin and Indrani Patnaik have depicted decline in production for the month of June`18. Serajuddin production stood at 0.50 MnT (down 11% M-o-M), and Indrani Patnaik at 0.36 MnT (down 10% on monthly basis).
