Mining News Agency -Rio Tinto, a leading global mining group, has sold its Australian minerals actively in recent years, and there were at least three potential buyers currently to submit the final offer to Rio Tinto’s last two Australian coal mines, the Hail Creek Mine and the Kestrel Coal Mine. The tender price might be as high as US$2.5 billion.
Mining News -Rio Tinto announced its policy in 2017 and decided to abandon the coal business and focus on iron, copper and aluminum mining businesses. Rio Tinto also successfully sold its coal mines in Australia`s Hunter Valley to Chinese Yanzhou Coal Mining Company with US$2.7 billion previously, and it planned to sell its two remaining coal mines, the Hail Creek Mine and the Kestrel Coal Mine.
