According to Mining News Pro - Hormozgan Steel Company (HOSCO) has 1.5 tons of offered capacity for producing “slab” with 200mm and 250mm of thickness, width from 900mm to 2000mm and length from 6000mm to 12000mm. In addition, this company is capable of producing 1.6 million tons of DRI and 90 thousand tons of lime.

Slabs are used for producing profile, water, oil and gas pipes. Cold rolling is used in the vehicle body, home appliances such as refrigerators, heaters, etc.
This company has succeeded to produce 310 thousand tons of steel in the first two months of this year and had 96 percent of growth compared to the same period last year.
Farzad Arzani, CEO of Hormozgan Steel Company answered some questions about the company and its future plans:

What are HOSCO plans for this year?
This year we want to reach 1.5 million tons of slab production and 960 thousand of it will be exported.
This company to produced 310 thousand tons of steel in the first two months of this year. By comparing these two months to the same period last year, HOSCO had 258 percent of the growth in the domestic market, 35 percent growth in the export market and total growth of 96 percent.

Do you have problems in supplying raw materials?
Our raw material is DRI and we supply it from the domestic market and mines but some of these companies export their materials. Therefore, we have some problems.
