According to Mining News Pro - In the recent years, cement industry in Iran faced oversupply and the exports weren’t in a good situation. Global price of cement is higher than its price in Iran and if the export restrictions are reduced, this industry will recover again.

On the other hand, due to the housing market conditions and the pressure on middle and poor classes of the society, these days, there are rumors about building 400 thousand new residential units which, will affect the demand of building materials.
Abdoreza Sheikhan, Secretary of the Guild of Cement Industry Employers Association said: “In the first nine moth of this year 48.9 million tons of clinker has been produced which has increased by four percent in comparison to the last year’s production volume. About 42 million tons have been converted to cement which had 0.7 percent decrease comparing to the last year. In the 9 months, 4,154,000 tons of clinker and 4,527,000 tons of cement were shipped to export markets.

He mentioned: “In the first nine months of this year, a total of 9.51 million tons of cement and clinker exported, up 0.9 percent from the same period last year.”
