Drop of Australian Iron Ore Exports in the Third Quarter of the Year

According to Mining News Pro -Australia`s iron ore exports amounted to 225.61 million tons in the second quarter and 211.1 million tons in the third quarter of last year.

The average price of iron ore in Australia in the third quarter of this year was unchanged from a quarter ago and was about $ 66- $ 67 per tonne delivered by Chinese ports.

Australia, which had 70 million and 590 thousand tons of iron ore in August, increased exports to 71.65 million tonnes in September.

China remains the largest destination for Australian iron ore exports, accounting for 80 to 85 percent of Australia`s total iron ore exports.

China accounted for 169 million tons of iron ore in Australia in the third quarter, down 9 percent from exports quarter-on-quarter, when exports reached 185 million and 430 thousand tons.

In September, China imported 59 million and 70 thousand tons of iron ore from Australia, up 4 percent from August.
