It is about 29% lower than the production witnessed in Jul’18. However, on a yearly basis, Chrome Ore production is witnessed to be up by 4% as production at Aug’17 was 200,141 MT. The merchant miners have also witnessed a substantial fall of 39% M-o-M in its Chrome Ore production. B.C. Mohanthy & Sons and OMC registered a fall of 14% and 93% respectively. However, IMFA recorded a significant increase of 119% M-o-M in its production and TATA Steel registered an increase of 11% M-o-M. The fall in Chrome Ore production can be attributed to the rainy season which makes it difficult for mining activity as the mines are water-logged.
