The strike struck the global aluminum market

According to Mining News Pro - The Australian trade union director said the strikes were wide-ranging and involved 1,600 workers, and in Western Australia`s processing plants, including Wageru, Pinjarra, Kwinana and Bauxite in Huntley and Willowdale.

The union has spent 20 months in talks with Alcoa, but no results have been made so far.

The miners are able to produce 9 million metric tons of bauxite and 5 million tons of alumina annually.

Rosal has threatened to stop its production line for US and other foreign markets if the US does not stop its sanctions against Russian aluminum.

Rusal Russia said the Nadvoitsky aluminum smelter is shutting down due to problems with the provision of primary feed.
